Cara Delevigne's Style

One of my favorite style icons of the moment is Cara Delevigne. She seems carefree and one of the few models that doesn't take herself too seriously. If I could, I would raid her closet. Unfortunately I would later regret that decision fairly quickly as it would probably land me in the slammer.

The song in the background is the acoustic version of Jessie J's "Do it like a Dude"

Rising Appalachia-Across the Blue Ridge Mountains

This is a local band that I currently love. Celtic music is part of the Appalachian tradition and these girls rock at it.
This is only a snippet of the song, the whole song is over 4 minutes, but well worth the length.

Is Barbara Palvin the new Miranda?

Since my last model comparison was popular I thought I would do another.
This is another comparison that I keep seeing. I actually don't think that they look alike at all. Maybe in this picture, but that is about it. Different faces and different body types, but they have similar coloring I guess (and the same profession). In other news, Palvin is the one supposedly responsible for breaking up Jelena....it made me do this: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOne cares-bye."

March for Life: Beneficial to the Cause?

In case you were wondering, I am pro-life, in all regards (The only time that I have a hard time with that stance is if the mother's life is in danger, I feel as if I don't have the right to tell someone to die in order to save their child). Anywho, my friend came up with an interesting discussion today on Facebook. Is the March for Life actually beneficial to the cause? It mean, it isn't going to change lawmakers minds and a lot of people just see it as a nice trip to DC or day off from school.

Some of that has merit, and I have heard that position argued before. I have known people who have gone for the trip to DC and the March was something that they had to do. My point though is this, it is in the dead middle of January, the coldest month of the year (generally) and all of these people are marching for a cause that they believe in. They come from miles and miles away and usually have either a day or half a day to spend in DC. My school took 7 bus loads from Kansas and drove 17hrs to DC to march in the frigid cold and spent half a day to explore and then drove 17 hours back. That sounds more like a hard journey than a fun field trip.

Also, I believe the March is hugely beneficial. It energizes the movement and breaths new passion into the stance. It also unites many people from different backgrounds and religions (or even no religion). Even seeing, photos of the half a million people who marched this year energizes me and makes me feel like I am a part of something big. If unity and energy were absent, then I believe that the movement would eventually crumble and die. A lot of people are scared to stand up to something when they do not have a crowd who agree with them. So by coming together, united in a cause, we have strength. Our biggest enemies to the cause are complacency and apathy, and without the March I believe we would be letting them in.
That image above is half a million folks that joined in the March for Life 2013 :)

Miranda Kerr--Treasure Yourself

I will be the first to tell you that I struggle with confidence. A lot. Or more or less accepting myself for the person I am. I'm not sure why, but certain aspects of myself I just want to remain hidden (Just in case you were wondering, I am well adjusted haha). And that lack of confidence and self esteem has gotten me into a lot of trouble in the past; things could have been prevented if I had the strength just to say no in certain situations. This summer, I picked up Miranda Kerr's Treasure Yourself. I was expecting it to be kind of flighty, I mean, its Miranda Kerr what does she know about low self-confidence? Turns out a lot, this book was beautifully written without any hint of vanity (which I was also expecting). It teaches girls and women to think positively. For instance, If you have a bad thought or a judgmental thought think aloud in your head "I RELEASE ALL BAD THOUGHTS!" over and over until it goes away. It may seem kind of childish, but after having tried it, I can honestly say that it works! Kerr also makes a point that every girl/woman is a flower and that we are each beautiful in our own unique ways (a rose and a violet are not the same but they are both equally beautiful)...so why the competition? We should love our neighbors as sisters and we should help build one another's confidence instead of tearing it down (self esteem is hard to build up and so easy to tear down).  So I can honestly say, that I respect Miranda Kerr not just for her supermodel status, but also because she uses that status to help promote confidence to so many people.

The Walking Dead

My current obsession at the moment is the Walking Dead. One because, zombies. Two because, drama. and Three because, zombies. I used to not be afraid of zombies at all, but after watching hundreds of them gang up on someone and tear apart their limbs and organs I have been having a hard time sleeping with the light off (Atchison KS would be the place for a zombie invasion, juss sayin). Better yet, the show is set in north Ga...my STOMPING GROUNDS! Seriously though, I'm going to the next casting call for zombie extras. What could be much cooler than parading around Fairburn road dress as a rotting cadaver?
My only critique of the show is that it is a little slow starting off but picks up after the first two or three episodes. It is also great if your into survivor scenarios, it even delves into bat shit crazies and what not. So if you're into gore and drama (that's you, ya'll supernatural fans) this show is the show for you!

I've parted ways with IExplorer

Internet Explorer is just too damn buggy and plus it crashed my computer and caused me to send a blank quiz on blackboard!!! I also almost wiped the entire memory from my computer and was about to begin defragging before checking to see if my issues were indeed a browser issue. It was. I hate you IE9!!! We are never ever getting back together EVER.

This was the Kate Moss/Johnny Depp photo I wanted to upload a while back ago

Isn't it cool?

Ed Sheeran- Give Me Love

OMYGAWD this music video was powerful. I thought that it was gonna get really cheesy once she started pulling feathers out of her shoulder blades, but they really took this video and did something very powerful with it. Go Ed! Also, I thought since that I am in a current state of the love sickness (or whatever it's called when you want to gag whenever you see couples canoodling all over the street), I would hate this...but wow, it gave such a sense of love and torment that I couldn't stop watching.

Dirty Heads Ft. Matisyahu--Dance All Night

I am currently in love with song. I love Matisyahu and I love how the Dirty Heads changed up their sound from beachy to spanish sounding. This blend makes for a great tune!

Gar I'm having trouble posting pictures

I was gonna post a cool picture of Kate Moss today, but instead I will upload this video of Kate.

Bowler Hat: Yes!

I'm thinking about using my Christmas money to buy a Bowler hat, they're so cool and vintage looking!

Even the doctor has one!

I hate you 2012

Well I was gonna write about my year and seeing the positives about it, but 2012 kicked me in the ass one final time by giving me the stomach flu on New Year's Eve and breaking my phone......yaye...way to bring in the new year. One positive about 2012, I bought a car.

Maybe this is a good sign, last year I brought in the new year quite awesomely and had a horrible year. Maybe since I brought it in so horribly this year, my year will be great!!!
Well anyways cheers to 2013!!! AND HOPE YALL HAVE A FABULOUS NEW YEAR!!!!
