Sweater Weather--The Neighbourhood

I found this on accident a minute ago and I am glad I did, it's pretty fun and upbeat and beachy :)

Plus it's sooooo cold in Kansas right now, and most of us here are holding our hands in the holes of our sweaters...so its fitting. (I inserted the second video just in case the first one didn't work)

Snow and the Southerner

As a southerner, as soon as I hear that its going to snow...even if its a half an inch....I run to the grocery store and fight off all my neighbors that I'm so nice to in the warmer months for some milk and butter. It's every southerner for themselves in those situations, even if that means that I have to fight them off with a french bread loaf. Since moving to Kansas though, I am surprised at how non-nonchalant these people are about snow. There is no "great race" to the supermarket and school hardly gets called off, even with a foot of snow on the ground. Being from Georgia/NC area, this rocks my world. We call off everything even at the slightest mention of half an inch of snow. We can't drive in these kind of conditions, even though we do get snow every year, because southerners only drive in sunshine really...(I mean really, we can hardly drive in heavy rain...ever seen I-20 during a rainstorm? yikes). So anyways, here, in Kansas last week we had about a foot of snow.

And this week, on top of the snow we just got, we're expecting another foot...And just like a southerner, I like to look at it out my window and play in it for a day...but now I seriously seriously want it to melt. There is a reason why Dante cast Satan chilling in the bottommost layer of hell, in a frozen river chewing on Judas' for eternity. Because snow and ice are evil.

Today I did something really cool

I planked > went into downward facing dog > walked my hand up to my toes > and stood upright without hunching my back or bending my knees XD
All this flexibility working out is starting to pay off!
I have NEVER been this flexible in my life...not even when I danced!
and I have never been able to do anything that cool since learning how to do the coffee grinder!

New Politics--Harlem

My new jump around the room with a big ass pony tail song. This reminds me of the "skater"/party music that was popular when I was back in high school (aka my favorite music genre). Anywho, this song is really fun n stuff!

The Cool tunes of Alt-J

A lot of artists these are trying so had to be "unique" and "different," in fact they try so hard that a lot of times they just sound errrr dumb or boring (because their version of different has already been done"). Well I believe that Alt-J is a truly refreshing and unique artist with interesting and catchy songs.

Willy Moon-Railroad Track

At first, with the opening I was expecting Kanye but was pleasantly surprised by Willy Moon. I'm digging this guys voice and his hair as well as the southern bluesy flair to this track. Looks like the video was filmed in 'Nawlins, so me gusto mucho!

As a romantic, I wish they had a love affair and that this was just a random snapshot of them just chilling in the city. I think it would have made an interesting movie at least. Maybe it would have gotten Marilyn away from the Kennedy's...
